AGNÈS CLÉMENT harp
Recently praised by the international medias as a “Virtuoso at the height of her art”, Agnès Clément is one of the most renowned harpists of her generation.
Agnès Clément was born in France in 1990. She has studied the harp and the bassoon at the Conservatories of Clermont-Ferrand and Boulogne-Billancourt before continuing her studies with Fabrice Pierre at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, where she was awarded the highest distinction at the age of 22.
Agnès Clément was awarded the First Prize, the Prize of the Audience and the Prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned piece at the ARD Music Competition in Munich in 2016. She is also a prizewinner of competitions including the prestigious USA International Harp Competition in Bloomington (Gold Medal), the Gisèle Tissier-Grandpierre Prize of the Institute of France, the International Competition Valentino Bucci in Rome (2nd prize) and the International Harp Competition Lily Laskine in Paris (3rd prize).
Since her solo debuts at the Salle Gaveau in Paris, at the Lyon & Healy Concert Hall in Chicago, and at the Berlin Philharmonie Agnès Clément has been regularly invited to perform as a soloist with orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Columbia, the The Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Victor Hugo Orchestra France-Comté in Besançon, the Auvergne Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Republican Guard in Paris, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra, the Hunan Philharmonic Orchestra and the DSO Berlin.
The Flemish composer Wim Henderickx dedicated his Harp Concertino to her in 2019. She premiered the piece with the La Monnaie Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Alain Altinoglu in Brussels. Agnès constantly enhances the contemporary repertoire for the harp by premiering pieces by Olivier Massot, Toshio Hosokawa, Michael Maganuco and Krzysztof Meyer.
As a chamber music musician, Agnès often plays with renowned musicians such as Tabea Zimmermann, Adam Walker, the Arod String Quartet, the Doric String Quartet, Patrick Gallois, Sébastien Jacot, Sophie Dartigalongue and the Brussels-based Carousel Ensemble.
Agnes Clement was appointed the position of Principal Harpist of the Orchestra of the Brussels Opera La Monnaie in 2013.
She has recorded two solo albums: “Dance” , with the Lyon & Healy Records label, and “ The Nightingale in love” with the Genuin Classics label.
